My name is Rei. Call sign is W1REI. I started in the hobby as a short wave listener as a young teenager. I received my first ham radio license in the 80′s in the Philippines. My call sign in the Philippines is DU1LWQ. My primary interests are digital communication (packet and APRS), SSTV, DXing and antenna homebrewing. I love ragchewing and, occasionally, I participate in contests just for fun, to give away points and test my equipment.
I’m a member of American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and a former member of Laguna Amateur Radio Communicators (LARC), Makiling Amateur Radio Society (MARS) – member organizations of Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA), and the now-defunct Digital Communications Group (144.080). I’m back on air after several years of hiatus. I’m active on 40, 20 and 17 and 2 meter and 70cm bands. I maintain *LAGUNA* conference server on Echolink and occasionally logged-in using my callsign. Aside from ham radio I’m also into photography, computer technology and website building. I’m pastor of Seedbed Church, a Christian church in Southern California.
