Want to become a ham radio operator?

Colorado’s Trail Gazette reports the Estes Valley Amateur Radio Club (EVARC) are running amateur radio training classes

The newspaper says during the recent flooding, for several days communication by Ham Radio was the primary way information was sent to and from Estes Park and surrounding communities.

Besides emergency communications, other reasons to become an amateur radio operator range from an interest in electronics to communicating with others around the world or even out in space (many astronauts on the International Space Station are radio hams).
