Harry Burkland | Obituary | The Daily Item – Sunbury Daily Item

Harry Lawrence “Moose” Burkland, 68, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center.

He was born March 3, 1952, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Harry M. Burkland and Dorothy (Blee) Burkland. On Nov. 24, 1973, he married the former Diane L. (Boop) Burkland, who survives.

Harry was a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School Class of 1971.

He worked as a mason.

He was a accomplished ameatur ham radio operator actually building his own equipment. He enjoyed cooking, carpentry, gardening, hunting, was an avid fly fisherman, and was excellent at tying his own flies, and playing softball in his younger years.

He was very supportive of his daughters athletic interest, attending their events, coaching midget football, and girls softball little league.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Nicole and John Wahl of Chambersburg, and Shanon and Jeromy Stamm of Mifflinburg; two granddaughters, Shannon Wahl of Chambersburg, and Morgan Spriggs and husband Dante of Fort Drum, NY; two sisters, Jeanne Morris of Danville, and Peggy Thompson of Manchester, NY.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Kenner.

A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Adamo’s Funeral Home. The public is invited to watch the service live on Adamo’s Funeral Home YouTube channel – please visit and click on the link to view.
